the lore behind ##digitalbunker

##digitalbunker (##db) started off as an online festival on discord in december 2022. the name “##digitalbunker” came from cxvic (an artist and clothes designer that owns busculture (busculture.xyz) and music collective 4gr. because of this, founder/ceo passchooo and cxvic decided to work on ##db together & busculture / 4gr was the official sponsor for ##digitalbunker22 (##db22)

##db had no plans to expand past its online festivals hosted on discord until passchooo made a slight joke with ##db artist hallownest if he should turn ##db into a music collective. hallownest approved of the idea, and naku, im6ges joined moments later.

passchooo thought that, since ##db22 was successful, he asked the community if they were interested in merchandise and future events. the ##db community wanted this so passchooo built a small-ish team called ##teamdb.. and now we’re here ✰

more about the ##digitalbunker22 festival

##digitalbunker22 was the first thing that ##digitalbunker did. having 21 artists create a ~15 minute set for their performance. over 170 people joined the official ##digitalbunker discord server, peaking at roughly 195 members to listen to their favourite artists & to listen to their unreleased, exclusive and released music.

the great thing about ##db22 was the exposure that every artist got because of it. it brought everyone together & introduced listeners to genres of music they have never heard of.

passchooo: “planning the festival was very stressful as i didn’t have a team behind ##digitalbunker. i was essentially soloing the entire festival and i had to make sure that everything went according to plan, especially when a few artists dropped out of the festival last minute due to personal issues or being busy, having to find last minute artists to replace them was high priority. i was almost late to my own festival.. i was on the way home, busy traffic on a london bus. i just about made it in time, and luckily everything went according to plan. ^_^”
